Description
2-Butene-1,4-diol is a palladium-containing compound that forms crosslinks by reacting with oxygen nucleophiles. Its density is 1.1±0.1 g/cm3, boiling point is 235.0±0.0 °C at 760 mmHg, melting point is 7ºC, and its properties are transparent to light yellow liquid.
Application
It is used to make agricultural chemicalsand the pesticide endosulfan; and as anintermediate for making vitamin B.2-Butene-1,4-diol has been used as a cross-linking agent for various polymers and is also able to form hydroxyl groups through allylation reactions.
